PROFILE - SHORT DESCRIPTION

The University of Zielona Góra is one of the youngest academic institiutions in Poland. It was foaunded in 2001 though a merger of The Technical University and The Pedagogical University. A modern higher education institution thus emerged comprising a wide spectrum of facluties ranging from arts, humanitaties, social science, ecnomomics, through exact science and engineering, to biology.

The University’s unique structure, similar to American universities, enables us to offer a wide variety of educational programs. In accordance with the adopted strategy, the University of Zielona Góra has undertaken numerous actions for the benefits of the enterprises, local self-governments and other institutions in the region. In 2010 together with local government and the special economic zone the Lubuski Science and Technology Park partnership was established. In order to tighten the cooperation between science and industry the Center of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer was founded, which cooperates in may fields with companies in the region.

Friendly studying conditions, the approachability of academic teachers and much lower cost of living as compared with other cities cause that our University has gained positive perception by both domestic and foreign students. Apart from lectures and classes, our students have always been actively involved in over 100 scientific clubs, organizations and associations.
