PROFILE - SHORT DESCRIPTION
University of Lodz has everything a student could ask for: modern infrastructure, high quality of education and a wide range of courses studied in foreign languages. All of them attract a large number of international candidates both for full-time degree programmes and for student exchange. Our academic community centers around respect for cultural, religious and diverse identities as well as social sensitivity. This set of values is visible through a variety of projects, such as University Diversity. We take actions integrating and sharing our diversity with local community and business – in this way the university makes a difference to the social and economic well-being through the research, teaching activities and public events. There are students of 95 nationalities studying at University of Lodz. What’s more, UL is ranked 4th in Poland in terms of international full degree students!
For decades, University of Lodz has been one of the biggest and most popular Polish universities. It was founded in 1945 as the successor of educational institutions operating in earlier years in Łódź, Poland’s fourth largest city. The 13 faculties of the University provide programmes in 168 fields of study, including 16 programmes in English . In addition, the University offers education in 4 doctoral schools, and more than 50 postgraduate curricula including an MBA programme.
