Description:

Philosophy in English is a 2-years MA program for both Polish and foreign students. All courses are offered entirely in English. Studies are meant to develop philosophical skills and competences that are useful in professional, public and private life (e.g., critical thinking, creativity, rationality, effective argumentation). The courses are planned in a balanced way: they aim at the development of skills and increase of knowledge of philosophy graduates, but are also suitable for graduates in different fields – in either case, they should provide the student with a solid philosophical background and understanding of current philosophical debates. The Master's course will develop the students' ability to discuss philosophy in English, and is therefore also recommended for those students who are planning to have an academic career in the field. This MA is designed to be your great intellectual adventure – our knowledge and experience will thoroughly guide your passion and philosophical interest towards your own self-development. MA Philosophy in English graduates can teach philosophy and ethics at schools. The programme can be useful for translators who want to specialize in philosophical literature. The MA degree obtained at UPJPII is equivalent to the Licentiate, which gives the graduate qualifications to teach in church institutions. First edition of studies is carried out within project co-financed from European Union funds within the European Social Fund.
