Admission for bachelor degree studies or uniform master degree studies is based on maturity certificate results.
Economics and IT Applications is a new specialization combining well-established economic knowledge with practical applications of information technology in business. The uniqueness of this specialization is emphasized by the assumption that all courses will be conducted in English by the university staff and foreign lecturers. The need for starting Economics and IT Applications resulted from the idea of educating graduates, who would be prepared to work in enterprises in Poland or in any other country, where the primary communication language is English. It should be emphasised that Polish Students get the opportunity of fee-free education in English within the scope of the program.
The program was developed in a unique way. There are no strictly defined specializations. These has been replaced by introducing modules, which can be selected by students. It enables them to create their own individual paths of study, which seems to be particularly important as a practical example of individualized education. The education program puts strong emphasis on practical aspect of education – laboratory classes based on computer applications in business constitute 25% of total number of classes.
The main goal of Economics and IT Applications education is strengthening the position of graduates in the labour market, as well as extending the current offer of programs and specializations within the economic education. Despite the relatively numerous cohorts of graduates in the recent years, the market of the West Pomeranian region is lacking specialists with practical skills of IT applications prepared for work in enterprises at managerial level with fluent professional English.
The graduate will have a strong position on international labour market. The developed program takes into account interest and suggestions of potential employers - enterprises, insurance companies and investment funds, local government institutions. Therefore, constant cooperation with potential employers will be of great importance to the program of studies.
