Proficiency in English is one of the key competences in the contemporary, globalized world. It improves labour market chances, opens up various possibilities to pursue interests and expand knowledge. The Institute of English Studies offers a flexible BA programme which allows students to choose freely from dozens of optional courses in a number of areas in Linguistics, Translation, Cultural Studies, Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and British and American Literature. Though students are obligated to attend some obligatory courses, the majority of their study experience consists of optional courses tailored to individual interests and needs. Special emphasis is put on the practical application of the knowledge acquired. Providing students with the opportunity to influence their academic experience is what makes our Institute one of a kind.
