Completed the first degree of studies: Engineering or Bachelor degree in one of specializations: informatics and econometrics, informatics, economy, finance and accountancy, logistics or other sepcialization, provided that the difference between the programmes of the completed specialization and first degree in Informatics and Econometrics at Faculty of Applied Informatics and Mathematics do not exceed 30 ECTS. Qualification based on results from the first degree studies (grade average).

Description: 

Mission of the specialization (major)

The modern economy is fully supported by the computer science. The finacial sector and rural economy are among many social and economical domains undergoing deep changes. The mission of the Faculty is to form engineers who understand the contemporary world and analyse it using computer methods and algorithms. An important role in this task plays the specialization of Information Systems in Management, realized fully in English. It is focused mainly on methods of analysis of the economic phenomena. Students are acquainted with the quantitative methods of economic analysis and the computer science tools and their practical application. The graduate is able to combine the available methods and tools into the integrated computer analysis systems as well as to modify existing systems. The specialization prepares future programmers, designers and analysts of modern information systems that are used in companies and economical institutions, such as banks, stock markets etc. This specialization is focused on the use of high level programming languages, design and programming of the databases, as well as the design and administration of the computer networks.

Detailed programme of studies

a) Econometrics part: Differential and Difference Equations – Applications, Actuarial Methods, Mathematical

Economics, Microeconometrics, Statistical Analysis in the Market Research, Operational Research – Applications, Dynamic and Financial Econometrics, Multidimensional Data Analysis, Survey Sampling, Derivatives in Risk Management, Theory of Forecasting and Simulations, Modelling and Optimization of Business Processes.

b) Informatics part: Theory of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Distributed Computer Systems, Computer Networks, Oracle Databases, ERP/CRM Systems, Business Intelligence Systems, Management Information Systems, Teleinformatics.

Educational outcomes

The graduates of managament Information Systems are expected to find job in central or local administration, centres of information processing for the needs of rural policies in EU, boards of companies operating in sector of food economics, in analysis departments of banks, brokerage companies, investment funds, scientific and research institutions.
