Lublin is the largest city east of the Vistula River and just 175 km away from Poland's capital. It is known as the “gate to the East” and is an important educational and scientific centre. Lublin is home to around 365 thousand inhabitants and over 60 thousand students. Agricultural machinery, chemicals, automobiles and trucks, foodstuffs (especially sugar), and beer are produced here. Indeed, Lublin is an academic centre with a rich educational offer. Caring for intellectual capital is very important for the development of the city. It is the seat of 5 public universities: the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, the University of Life Sciences, the Lublin University of Technology, and the Medical University of Lublin. There are also 4 non-public schools of higher education: the University College of Enterprise and Administration, the University of Economics and Innovation, the College for Social Sciences, and the Vincent Pol University in Lublin. The educational institutions are distinguished not only by the largest number of students in the Lubelskie Voivodeship but also by the impressive scientific and research achievements recognized in the country and abroad.

The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin is the oldest university in Lublin and the first Catholic university in East-Central Europe. KUL is a private university at which Polish and foreign students can study in a wide range of faculties and disciplines. It is an open university, where people of all religious denominations are welcome. Lectures and classes at KUL are conducted by highly qualified academic staff, who excel as teachers and researchers in diverse domains of science. The graduates of KUL are widely appreciated by employers. A lot of our graduates hold prestigious positions in world-renowned institutions in Poland and abroad.

The Medical University in Lublin is an educational institution created in 1944. Overall, it has 4 faculties. The number of students studying pharmacy, dentistry, obstetrics exceeds 5.5 thousand. Usually, the classes take place in groups of up to 10 students so that its effectiveness is high. The university also cooperates with the Erasmus + programme. It allows the students to study in foreign universities for several semesters. In 2001 the English Language Division was founded which has been offering education in Medicine in the English language to students from all over the world.

The University of Life Sciences in Lublin is a multi-profile higher education institution, which integrates a wide range of agricultural, biological, veterinary, technical and socioeconomic sciences. The University of Economics and Innovation (WSEI) from 2000 has graduated over 16 thousand qualified specialists in the fields of economics, healthcare, and internal security. The Vincent Pol University in Lublin is a private university, located in Lublin in eastern Poland. The university has a promising position in the ranking of all universities and has 68 partner universities throughout Europe. The Vincent Pol University in Lublin was founded in 2000 and has grown rapidly in popularity, with a current student community of around 4500, including over 40% international students, studying also on our degree courses that are taught through the medium of English. The University College of Enterprise and Administration (WSPA) is among the youngest higher education institutions in Lublin. The university is in 30th place in the list of all business schools that operate in Poland. The College for Social Sciences in Lublin is a higher education institution that provides first cycle (undergraduate) studies in the following fields: Dietetics, Cosmetology, Pedagogy, Social Work, Sociology, Dance, Dental Techniques, and Paramedic Studies. The educational offer also includes online-supported postgraduate studies (7 fields of study). The College for Social Sciences in Lublin is the first higher education institution in the region to have undertaken the education of professional advisers in the Sociology field of study.
