Admission requirements: 
  1. School leaving certificate (legalized or given an apostille) obtained abroad entitling to study at all types of universities in the country appropriate to the education system issuing the certificate. Document should be legalized or given an apostille and translated into English or Polish language by certified translator;
  2. Candidate should also provide a statement that his school leaving certificate allows him to take up the first cycle studies in the country it was issued – if such a statement is not already written on the certificate;
  3. Document confirming competence in English language (for studies in English) at least at B2 level;
  4. Document confirming the candidate’s identity;
  5. Photo (format 45x35mm, in the left semi profile with a visible left ear, without any jewellery, bareheaded and without any dark glasses, with equal lighting on the face).
Description: 

Graduates of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering have education in the field of modern transport functioning, concerning in particular transport means engineering, traffic engineering and transport systems’ analysis. They can solve problems in the field of control systems’ and traffic control organization, planning and designing. They are prepared for creative thinking and use of advanced knowledge concerning systems’ organization and design, as well as processes and technologies of road, rail and air transport.

Programme structure

The study program includes (not limited) the following modules:
• maths, physics, statistics and other base courses,
• social and economic sciences module (economic, ergonomics and work safety, life cycle assessment, organization and management, communication techniques, fundamentals of law, etc.),
• foreign language,
• sport classes,
• IT module (automation and control, information technology, programming, etc.),
• module of technical courses (numerical methods, computer simulations, CAD/CAM/CAE systems),
• module of engineering courses (machine construction, transport infrastructure, material engineering, technical mechanics, measurement, electrical engineering, etc.),

Specialisations:
- Mechanics and Aviation Operation
Graduates of this specialization have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and meet the basic conditions for obtaining a license of aviation mechanics cat. B 1.1. – “turbine aircraft”, according to international standards specified in Part-66. Training program for aircraft mechanic license cat. B 1.1. – “turbine aircraft”, is implemented based on the program of Maintenance Training Organization (MTO) – Part-147 of the Silesian University of Technology, certificate no. PL.147.0021.2017. It covers 1600 hours of theory and 1200 hours of apprenticeships, it is carried out as part of first and second cycle studies as well as complementary training.

- Air Navigation
Graduates of this specialization have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and an airplane pilot license CPL (A) / ME / IR – ATPL frozen (A) and MCC course completed – Commercial Pilot License (A) – CPL, including Multi-Engine (ME) and Instrument Ratings (IR), plus, ATPL theory and Multi Crew Cooperation Course (MCC) – 4th operational level, according to international standards – Part-FCL. The training program for license of CPL (A) / IR / MME – ATPL (frozen) and MCC course according to Part-FCL is implemented based on the Approved Training Organization of the Silesian University of Technology – certificate No. PL / ATO – 78. The training includes over 750 hours of theoretical training and approx. 200 hours of practical training in the air to obtain the rights specified in the abovementioned mentioned international standard.

- Transport Engineering
Graduates of this specialization have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering have extensive knowledge and skills in the design and analysis of technical and system solutions in transport. Taking into account social and ecological aspects as well as reliability and safety criteria.

Career opportunities

Graduates of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering can be employed in companies and units of maintenance of road, rail and air as well as industrial transport. These include, but are not limited to, maintenance and repair facilities of transport technical means, organizational units of road, rail, air and in-house traffic services, as well as forwarding companies and logistics centers. Depending on the chosen specialty, they will successfully find employment in as airplane pilot, aviation mechanics and engineer of transportation. They can also work in teaching and research centers in the field of transport.
