We offer a Master’s course in Aquaculture and Fishery for international students, which is highly fascinating and fastly developing branch of animal production worldwide. The studies cover wide area of topics referring to aquaculture industry and academia, as well as management of aquatic ecosystems.
The graduates of the Aquaculture and Fishery course will hold the experience in the field of commercial fish production where traditional (pond-based) as well as modern intensive fish farming technologies (including salmonids farming and intensive production in recirculating aquaculture systems, i.e. RAS) are the main themes. However, additionally, the MSc candidates will have unique possibility of acquiring the knowledge in the field of fish biology and exploitation of wild populations, with special reference to inland water bodies.
In summary, educational outcomes are characterized by unique combination of core knowledge from the two main fields: aquaculture and fisheries. Following the course, the students will become a specialist in freshwater ichthyology, being professionally trained in both fields.
To improve professional skills, students participate in internships in aquaculture companies. Student can do his internship in Poland (in the proposed company) or in their own country.
Besides our MSc course prepares the students to become a highly trained specialist in laboratory work with fish as well as providing professional knowledge and skills in analytical lab-works (including biochemistry and molecular biology), graduates will become professionals in fish farming as well as in management of open water bodies. Thus, our former students are highly attractive for the labor market all over the world. This will create the real opportunities of undertaking job throughout of globe in various companies producing or serving the services to the aquaculture sector. Besides, while being specialists in management of freshwater ecosystems the MSc graduates will have opportunities of taking the position all over the world in various wildlife and environmental organizations, NGOs and many others, wherever the in-depth ichthyological knowledge will be considered as an added value.
