University of Lodz sharing marketing success of the SmartUni app with German universities at DAAD!
Creators of the SmartUni project (the University of Lodz) have been invited by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to hold a presentation during workshops titled “Current trends in the online marketing”, that will take place on 21-22 November 2016 in Bonn (Germany). Representatives of 16 German Universities will gather to discuss their knowledge in the field of online marketing. UL IRO’s representative – Ms Weronika Ćmielewska – will present the UL mobile application SmartUni and comment on its marketing success and significant increase of visibility of the University of Lodz in the social media. Taking into consideration DAAD’s and participating institutions’ prestige, such invitation is perceived as a great appreciation, especially that the UL will be the only foreign institution invited. The invitation for the University of Lodz follows the publication of the „Practical examples of digital marketing for universities worldwide” textbook (July 2016, DAAD) where the SmartUni appears as a model tool that combines student guide, digital technology, and successful marketing. The SmartUni project was carried out thanks to an official funding contest. The contest titled “Promotion of studies at Polish Universities among foreigners”, in which the University of Lodz took third place, was run by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and aimed at best promotional materials for the international student market. The SmartUni App idea turned out to hit the jackpot!
