My experience was very positive – I have learned a lot.
How did you learn about The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław?
By surfing on the internet, searching for art academies which have wheelthrowing classes.
Why did you decide to study in Poland?
For my first year, I studied as an Erasmus student, I decided because they had classes which covered my diploma research – I could learn, research and write for my BA diploma. For the second year, studying Interdisciplinary Printmaking, I decided because I saw the E. Geppert Academy offers a lot of new experience, the studios are well equipped and your enthusiasm in working and researching is supported by professors and assistants, who have professional relationships with the students. Some have high expectations from the students, some let them explore in their own ways, the energy is very balanced.
Which programme in our Academy did you choose?
Erasmus: Ceramics Department, later one-year postgraduate study programme Interdisciplinary Printmaking.
What were your plans and expectations related to studying in the Academy?
First year to learn as much about ceramics and write my diploma, second year to explore, experiment and develop my printmaking technique.
What kind of possibilities have studies in the Academy given you?
To focus on my work and development of form/drawing/composition. To meet new people who have similar interests, sharing experiences with others.
Would you decide to continue your studying in the Academy?
Yes, but unfortunately that is not possible.
What would you tell to all those who hesitate to study in Poland?
Go and study at Eugeniusz Geppert Academy. My experience was very positive – I have learned a lot, not only about ceramics and printmaking, but also about other cultures and about myself as well.
