Description:
Studies in the Aeronautics and Aerospace field of study are addressed to both military students as well as civilian students.

A full-time first degree course lasts 7 semesters.

Civilian full-time first degree courses offer the following specialisations:
  • pilotage,
  • avionics.
The Aeronautics and Aerospace field of study (major) provides instruction in the most advanced structural systems using innovative technologies and technical solutions based on advanced materials, computer technology, electronics, and extensive diagnostic systems to ensure the safety and reliability of the flying objects.

The following subjects are offered in the course: mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering graphics and design representation, general mechanics, strength of materials and structures, aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, flight mechanics, basics of electro-technology, basic electronics, basic automation, thermodynamics, basic machine design, construction and design of flying objects, aircraft and aerospace engines, aircraft equipment, aviation and aerospace technology, aviation materials, operation of aircrafts, aircraft structural optimisation, operation of flying objects management.

GRADUATE´S PROFILE

Graduates are prepared to perform engineering tasks in modern aviation industry facilities and facilities operating aircraft. They also have the ability to transfer modern aviation technology to other sectors of the industry, in particular to those companies which perform tasks for aviation.

Knowledge in relation to all specialties includes modern technologies, information measures and the requirements of international aviation institutions (JAR-FCL 1, 2 regulations) specifying the qualifications and rules for obtaining air personnel licenses.

  • professional pilot – the qualification of students for the pilotage specialisation will be carried out after the third semester according to the following criteria: academic performance, progress in flight training (number of flying hours on gliders and airplanes), health predispositions.
Full-time students of the pilotage specialisation can do free flight training, both theoretical and practical, in the air; in accordance with JAR FCL-1 regulations, which satisfies the conditions of applying for a professional pilot’s license issued in accordance with the provisions of the Act on Aviation Law of 3 July 2002, as further amended.
  • avionics engineer – students of the avionics specialisation can do theoretical training in accordance with the standards of the field of study, and covering an area of knowledge in accordance with PART 66, which determines the application for a PART 66 license for aircraft technical maintenance personnel.
Graduates of the Aeronautics and Aerospace faculty usually work in the following fields:
  • civil and military aviation,
  • ground services, operating aviation equipment,
  • the aviation industry – manufacturing plants,
  • the aviation industry – maintenance units.
