Watch Polish Films And Learn The Language!

Learning a new language is not always easy. Thus, there are many ways and methods of learning that could make the process easier and more interactive.

It is not something new that many people watch films in order to practice the listening skills of the language. Watching movies familiarizes you with native speech. In this article, we would like to recommend to you some Polish films that could make your learning language process fun!

However, before watching it consider some tips:

  • Try to note the new words that you hear.
  • Translate it!
  • Always check the movie’s difficulty level.
  • Take breaks to process information.
  • Involve your friends as well!

"Chłopaki nie płaczą" (Eng."Boys do not cry", 2000) 

It is a Polish criminal comedy about two gangsters who must deliver a large amount of money to the designated place. The film is full of humor and positive energy.

"Poszukiwany, poszukiwana" (Eng. "Man – Woman Wanted", 1972)

Stanislaw gets a job in an art museum in Warsaw. One day, a painting is discovered missing and Stanislaw's boss blames him for the crime. How can Stanislaw return a painting he has never stolen? Stanislaw's boss gives him 24 hours to return the painting or go to jail.

"Bez końca" (Eng." No end", 1984)

The movie of the famous film director Krzysztof Kieslowski, nominated for an Oscar. Uli's husband dies of a heart attack. Ulyana can hardly go through the loss and cannot imagine her life and future. But still, Ulya finds a way out - she decides to continue and complete the work of her husband, which was so important to him. And it becomes the meaning of her life.

"Wesele" (Eng. "The wedding", 2004)

A wealthy small-town man organizes the wedding party for his daughter. As the party begins, unexpected events start to occur and disturb the party for the hosts and guests alike.

"Człowiek z żelaza"(Eng. "Man of Iron", 1981)

The film examines the events leading to one of the most crucial historical events of the 20th century. A Polish reporter attempts to compile a story designed to discredit a labor leader involved in the Gdansk strikes.

"Chce się żyć" (Eng. "Life feels good", 2013)

The film is based on the true story of Mateusz, who suffers from cerebral palsy. Everyone believes he is mentally handicapped until one doctor makes a connection with him.
