Polish universities presented their offer at STUDIJOS fairs in Vilnius

Between 6 and 8 February 2014 11 Polish HEIs took the opportunity Ministry of Science and Higher  Education created for them and presented their education offer to Lithuanian students at International Knowledge, Education and Career Fairs STUDIJOS 2014. Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Lithuanian Republic officially opened the event.

With over 194 exhibitors from 14 countries and nearly 40 thousand visitors STUDIJOS Fairs is the biggest education expo in the Baltic countries.

Representatives of Polish HEIs took advantage of the Polish national stand arranged by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in cooperation with Foundation for the Development of the Education System and Polish Institute in Vilnius including: University of Silesia in Katowice, Maritime University of Szczecin, Academy of Agrobusiness in Łomża, Kazimierz Wielki University, National Defence University, Cracow University of Economics, Graduate School for Social Research at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy Of Sciences, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, State Higher Vocational School in Tarnobrzeg and Olsztyńska Szkoła Wyższa Józefa Rusieckiego.

On Wednesday 5th February the Ministry in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vilnius organized a seminar with young people of Polish origin to deliver information on the rules of pursuing degree level education, doctoral programmes and other types of education or training in Poland as well as scholarship programme opportunities. A special scholarship programme is designed for Middle and Eastern European citizens with legally confirmed Polish origin. Over 100 students of Polish high schools participated in the meeting.

On 2nd day of the Fairs Ministry representative presented information on the Polish higher education system and the possibilities of pursuing university education in Poland for the Lithuanian citizens followed by individual presentations of participating HEIs. The Polish stand was visited by a few hundred visitors interested in particular in taking up economics, journalism, foreign languages, medical or veterinary studies.
