Polish IT specialists keep impressing the world
We are proud to announce that the Polish team "Poland Can Into Space" took second place in the finals of the Hack-a-Sat competition organized by the United States Air Force. In order to participate in the contest, the Polish team had to solve many IT security and satellite technologies tasks. It is important to mention that a total of over 1,200 teams from all over the world took part in the competition. Congratulations!
"Poland Can Into Space" consisted of members of p4 and Dragon Sector - two of the best Polish teams in the field of ICT security ("Capture The Flag"), and experts with experience in designing Polish student satellite missions.
Social and economic development is increasingly dependent on quick and unhindered access to information. The number of threats and security incidents has been increasing for many years. Each incident poses a risk of violating the security of citizens - taking over personal data, violating the privacy, losing money, and often also health. This should be effectively counteracted.
Cybersecurity specialists are currently in demand in almost every industry in the world. However, employing them is becoming more and more difficult due to the long-growing qualification gap - by 2022, there will be a shortage of even 350,000 workers in this field in Europe.
It may also have a positive impact on the percentage of women employed in this area - 90% of candidates returning to the labor market are women, and in the cybersecurity industry there are only 11% of them in total.
On the national and international level, the Polish representatives are showing bright results in the field of IT and cybersecurity. A crucial part of becoming a competitive IT specialist is to obtain a high-qualified education and practice.
