International medical forum for students on January 30th
On January 30th, there will be organized a virtual international student medical forum for aspiring medical students from around the world to support the discussion of medicine and develop a student network based on these shared interests. The event includes 7 lectures by world-class Hong Kong professors of medicine, networking, and research project presentations. The event is organized by Asklepian Medical Society.
Young People Studying in St. Paul's Co-Educational College in Hong Kong founded the Asklepian Medical Society. It is an independent student organization, that helps aspiring medical students to explore their medical knowledge.
During the medical forum you can:
- Get to know the world-class speakers including LAI professor Ching Lung - Professor of Medicine and Hepatology at Hong Kong University, Professor LEUNG, Ping Chung, SBS, OBE, JP - Emeritus Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. TO, Kelvin Kai-Wang - Head of Microbiology at HKU
- Participate in small group forums and discuss various topics, such as the ethics of genetic engineering, the future of surgery, the use of artificial intelligence in medicine, and the global COVID situation
- Share your own research projects in the form of 5-minute presentations
- Make contacts with other delegates around the world
How to join the forum?
The Forum will be held on the Zoom platform on the 30th of January.
Session 1: 06: 30-10: 30 UTC, 14: 30-18: 30 UTC + 8
Session 2: 11: 30-15: 00 UTC, 19: 30-23: 00 UTC + 8
Participants may choose to participate in one or both sessions. Certificates will be issued to participants with over 80% participation in both sessions. The medical forum will be in English language and free of charge. Interested students can register by scanning the QR code below.
Asklepian is an independent student organization that is not affiliated with the Hong Kong Education Bureau. They believe that their organization can foster communication between young minds interested in medicine. As part of their first initiative, they interviewed over 30 professors of medicine in Hong Kong and published their findings on their website, enabling peers to understand their careers and researches.
