How To Organize Your Workplace To Push The Productivity Up?

We rarely think about the impact of the work environment on our productivity. It has been proven that the environment around us directly influences the results of our work and learning. Thus, in this article, we have gathered the most useful pieces of advice on how to organize your working place and rush your productivity.

Ready, study, go!

Arrange everything correctly.

The monitor should be at your eye level and around 43–45 cm away from you.

Place frequently used items, such as a phone or office supplies, on the side of your dominant hand. It is very convenient because you should not drag out dumping everything around.

Use your devices wisely.

Do you really need 10 pens, a few pencils, and a stapler every day? On your desk try to keep only supplies that you use every day. Put the rest of the stationary in a case and away from the workplace.

Use sticky notes. However, without fanaticism.

It is not productive to cover the monitor with too many colored papers. Later it looks like an advertising board. Put the sticky notes with only the most crucial tasks or issues, so you can concentrate on them.

Take away the personal items.

It is important to maintain a balance between professional and personal life in the workplace. It's difficult.

Family photos, holiday souvenirs, and other pleasant little things definitely warm your soul during the working day. However, too many memorable things that evoke an emotional storm of memories are too distracting.

Try to keep no more than three personal items on your desk.

Regulate your communication with e-mail.

Email is still the most convenient way to communicate on the Internet. But it can hit your productivity if you're constantly distracted by letters.

Thus, we recommend you to check your mail twice a day at certain times. The rest of the time simply dedicate to work and study.

Yes! And do not forget to turn off the distractible notifications!

Organize your workflows.

Chaos usually appears when the table is littered with papers on projects from past, present, and future. To avoid this, experts recommend grouping your tasks into such categories:

  • important and urgent
  • urgent and not important
  • important and not urgent
  • not urgent and not important

Hopefully, these pieces of advice will help you to be more productive.
