Master degree in chemistry or cognate discipline (chemical technology, biochemistry, materials engineering ect.), English language level B2.
The study lasts for four years. The student follows mandatory course which is valid 45 ECTS. This course is individual for each student and sets according to the student interest. The student will gain advanced knowledge in technological sciences, especially materials engineering and chemistry. regarding newest achievements in new materials and technologies as well as research and measurement techniques. The student is also trained to teach undergraduate students. In parallel, the student is involved in research project. He has an individual tutor, a member of senior staff with Associate Professor degree or higher, who is directly responsible for the development of the research. The Faculty provides research programs in the field of different materials, e.g. liquid or solid crystals, conventional as well as nanostructured adsorbents, high-energy materials, metal alloys especially intermetallics, semiconductors for IR detectors, fotonic materials for silica and polymer optic fibers. For each group of materials the student can design the material by himself, perform material synthesis and its characterization. Within these areas it is possible to go deeply into physics of explosion or optoelectronic systems. Another field of interest is chemical analysis of environmental contamination. The final dissertation (Ph.D. thesis) as well as the defense is obligatory to obtain Ph.D. degree.
