Description:

Smart Manufacturing is s geared towards developing 21st century managerial and engineering competencies to meet the demands of a rapidly changing technological environment. Studies in this field will make you proficient in the use of technology and its latest developments, gaining the ability to work with other professionals, including designers, architects and project managers. You will also effectively lead and manage projects, teams and resources – adapting easily to new technologies and changing environments.

This field of study is also in line with the educational strategy promoted by the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), of which Lodz University of Technology is a member. The main pillar of this strategy is the implementation of flexible learning paths aimed at acquiring a variety of competences. You will be able to take advantage of other forms of education offered not only at Lodz University of Technology, but also within the ECIU consortium. These will include:

  • online micro modules: you will be able to take online courses to learn new skills and technologies at your own pace and at your convenience. ECIU's online courses offer a variety of topics and themes, and most are taught asynchronously, so you can easily fit them into your schedules;
  • micro-credentials and digital badges: you will earn competency badges offered by both the ECIU network and other business and non-university units;
  • work-based learning: the courses will largely be implemented in collaboration with business partners so that you can take advantage of work-based learning opportunities. On-the-job learning can take the form of an internship, collaborative programs or training and can be tailored to your needs;
  • competence-based learning: such education focuses on learning outcomes rather than hours spent in the classroom, allowing you to demonstrate your skills in a more practical way. This approach allows for more flexibility in the learning process and can be tailored to your needs. Smart Manufacturing is a field of study designed in an innovative way, providing only three competence modules each semester, focusing your attention on selected sets of competencies.

What you gain:

  • The opportunity to choose micro-modules in line with your interests and anticipated professional needs, as well as taking into account the expectations of employers, which will significantly increase your employability on the labour market.
  • The chance to supplement your knowledge with long-term internships, not only in Poland but also abroad.
  • The opportunity to acquire the competencies required to effectively perform managerial tasks in various sectors of the economy in the era of Industry 4.0.
  • The ability to adapt to the expectations of foreign investors.
  • Preparation to conduct scientific and socio-organisational activities.
