By studying the Materials Science and Engineering you gain the knowledge on the structure, properties and technology of materials. It is an interdisciplinary field with strong contribution from physics, chemistry, mechanics, informatics and many others. You will learn about the relationship between the structure of materials at atomic or molecular scales and their macroscopic properties.
Graduates of materials science can find jobs in virtually every branch of industry. They can work in construction and design departments as well as in tool, automotive, construction, electronic and medical equipment industries. They are also prepared to undertake activities in the scope of designing manufacturing medical equipment and implants. Moreover, graduates can find employment in production departments which manufacture and process materials, tachnology departmants which deal with material and technology transfers.
The study program includes many hours spent in modern laboratories where students have the opportunity to acquire and develop their practical skills in the field of material processing and characterization. Special emphasis is placed on plasma based surface treatment and thin film technologies as well as modern ceramic materials.
Our industry and research partners all over the Europe offer internships and training. It opens the door to a very attractive labor market in the EU and other countries.
