Description:

The Doctoral School of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław is an artistic and research unit, educating specialists demonstrating significant artistic achievements and high research and teaching potential. The doctoral training, which lasts 6 semesters, prepares the researchers to obtain a doctoral degree in the field of art in the discipline of fine arts and conservation of works of art.

The curriculum of the Doctoral School provides a well-balanced proportion of practice and theory, respecting tradition and opening to new trends, using classical techniques, and experimenting with new technologies. This exceptional environment sets individual artistic activities of doctoral students in a broad spectrum of cultural, scientific, and social references.

All doctoral students at Polish doctoral schools receive high monthly scholarships. They can also apply for additional funding to support their activities within the programme “Fund for scientific development of the members of the Doctoral School".

The E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław as the only art academy in Poland and Europe has received Substantial Equivalency by NASAD – the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, an accrediting organization for art schools in the United States. It means that our degrees, including doctoral degrees are now recognized as equivalent to some of the best art and design degrees in the world.
