Poznan University of Technology has joined FOLDING@HOME campaign

Scientists from Poznan University of Technology from the Faculty of Engineering Management have joined the FOLDING@HOME campaign. Fifteen Laboratory computers of the Institute of Safety and Quality Engineering are working for this action.

FOLDING@HOME is an online project organized by Stanford University in the United States. The project aims to study protein-folding processes and focuses on studying the way a protein molecule folds in space. Any internet user who wants to participate in the project should have an internet connection (fixed link is not required), a computer, and an installed Folding@home client.

Hundreds of thousands of personal computers around the world connect over the Internet to servers located at Stanford University, from where they download data for calculations and send results back.

Installing the Folding@home client allows you to share a portion of your computer's calculating power to simulate the behavior of COVID-19 virus proteins – look the website for more information - https://foldingathome.org/covid19/ .

How to join the action? - details can be found on the website - https://foldingathome.org/start-folding/ .

The video installation is available https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxK0Tm17DQ0&feature=youtu.be . It is important to select "Set up an identity" during installation and enter a team number 254123 - this is the number assigned to the computers of the Poznan University of Technology team.
